Is the site dead? 3 Months ago Karma: 3
Hi I was just wondering if the site is dead or not because I miss seeing new things on here, I hope it's not because I have always loved this site.

I believe Vended here is just being a bit bitter about the state of things. Heidegger has only been missing for a couple months now, but he has been apparently working towards updating the site to bring it into the...well it's not even the next decade now! In any case, in his last sighting he updated the current site with the "2005 Stories" section which was thoughtful for legacy's sake. But yeah, unless Heid shows up soon and like immediately launches the new version of the website (which I'm still rooting for you to do Heid) - then the long and slow decay of ARarchive by inaction (as long warned about by me personally) will be complete.

Honestly, while I have tried to exercise a decade's long patience for any kind of hope for a site upgrade. It might finally be the time, if anyone is still around, to actually discuss going forward with a final exodus for Age Transformation fiction from this website. Sure, there have been previous exoduses of individual authors and artists either to DeviantArt or making their own websites. But the purpose of the ARchive, besides acting as an archive of course to hundreds of AR/AP stories, was to nurture creative writing within this niche subgenre. Which it has failed to do well since it first failed to provide simple feedback for authors like myself and many others, before then entirely denying authors to post any story content whatsoever in what was supposed to be a short transfer period.

I'm open to discussing matters of digital preservation at this late hour, if anyone wants to come forward start a conversation with me. My hopes have been scoffed at before years ago, despite the namesake of the website I'm posting this on, but so much time has passed that I suspect most of those naysayers aren't even around anymore to bask in my vindication here.

But eh, it is what it is. But like I said, if anyone wants to talk about actually ensuring the continuity of this site's founding purpose - either on here or elsewhere. Well let's have it. If you can't log-in on here to talk, I can reached quite easily on DeviantArt on my profile (RegressingAger) on there.

But if Heid still wants to blow my proclamations out of the water, he's more than welcome to embarrass me utterly.

What I love is that the main page is still full of Tainted Sins promotions.

I don't understand all the salt. People have lives, and free site is free.

It's dead, due to Heidegger's botched plan to update it. It's been frozen for years now. Sometimes it's better to lose some features, at least temporarily, but save the soul of the site.
