Will the stories from old.ararchive.com be moved to the new site?

Old. ararchive.com mixes the discussion and the stories. To migrate the stories someone would have to manually review the 13,375 posts for stories that are missing from the migration and then add them to the new site. Any volunteers?

When will the new site be ready?

I am working on it. Unfortunately, sometimes work and real life intervene and it has slowed down the work considerably. I won't make a guess but I will say that I won't have work obligations between Christmas and New Years so a lot should get done then.

Will it be a new address or the same one?

It will be exactly the same url you go to now - except it will be https and secured by an ssl certificate. I will probably put the version of the site you are looking at now under the old.ararchive.com url since the code that is there now hasn't worked in quite a while.

Thank you for the often thankless work you put into keeping this place available for us.

I'm very excited to see the new site when it's ready and to see new stories again.

Thanks for all your hard work. I've done some dives back into the Old Archive with Archive.org and saved a good number of my favorites. Some stuff has been lost to the ages but I'd be willing to post what I've saved once the new site is up.

May I ask how you did that? I kind of want to see if I can find something that's of interest.

Archive.org is the site I use to look up old snapshots of typically defunct websites. You'd have to right click the text that says "Old Archive" and then click "Copy address _link_" to plug that in on the Archive website. Then you basically need to navigate the options to see which ones have the most complete forms of the old website. I typically search through all the months and years of the "Stories" section of the old ARarchive.

I also saved some years ago almost all of the content there, and had began to repost them under the OldStories account. No problem doing it on the new site.

By the way, there were a few stories which still had some chapters missing. Do you have access to the code to somehow retrieve them, Heidegger?

For example "The Lesser of Two Evils" , by Vern
