So, I had this idea for a story. Simply put, the main character has an inevitably fatal 'disease' that is untreatable by normal modern medicine. Not wanting to die, he goes out to search for alternatives. This... does not end all that well either. The story is intended to be quite dark, exploring themes like mortality/knowing you will die, slowly losing motor functions one by one et cetera. Of course, the next task would be actually getting it out of my fingers, but hey.

Would anyone be interested in this?

There was actually a story on here at some point that attempted to make the AR process as realistic as possible and was going for that dark vibe. The story and the author's name escape me but I know it was _base_d in the UK.

I like to read and write those kinds of stories. I think cautionary tales about AR are quite appropriate -- though the audience is quite small.
